Preparing for an NIULPE examination can be a grueling task.  As the saying goes; If it's worth having, it doesn't come easy.  There are many schools and trainers that will help you prepare for an NIULPE exam.  Several NAPE chapters offer preparation classes.  Each instructor will have recommended books that supplement their class.  If you are planning to attend a preparation class (recommended) be sure to use the books as directed by the instructor

Power engineering cannot be learned through books alone.  With this in mind the following is a list of books that may help in your preparation for an NIULPE examination.  These books are available thought the NAPE at: http://powerengineers.com/store/page2.html
